New roof guidance information was published in April 2017 by the TRA (Trussed Rafter Association) to reduce the risks and costs of poor spandrel panel installation. Spandrels have grown more popular with housebuilders and a survey in 2017 by NHBC, found that 17% of 8,000 new home sites were using spandrel panels. The new guidance was developed by the TRA with the NHBC and the STA (Structural Timber Association) to ensure that spandrel panels are being constructed to the industry standard.
